Finish specifications

Finishes specified in this catalog reflect TACO's stock finishes. Other finishes are available provided minimum quantity requirements are met and sufficient lead-time is given.

Anodized aluminium finishes

Anodizing is an electrolytic process that redeposits a protective coating on an aluminum surface. This coating becomes an integral part of the aluminum and will not peel or flake.
The following is a complete list of anodized finishes available either from stock and/or special order. Please refer to our finish codes when specifying a particular finish.

Brite Dip Finishes

BLY: Silver Brite Dip and Anodized
Anodized finish for chrome like appearance. Withstands corrosive environments. Extrusion flow lines may appear through the anodized finish.

Premium Brite Dip Finishes

BXY: Polished, Brite Dip Anodized
Simulated stainless steel finish for corrosive and highly aesthetically critical environments requiring the most blemish-free aluminum extrusion available. Most extrusion flow lines are removed during the polishing process.

BLS: Brite Dip, Mechanically Linear Sanded and Anodized
Fine wire brush and anodized finish. The mechanical brushing masks unsightly scratches that occur from contact and handling during fabrication or everyday use.

BSA: Silver Brite Dip, 320 Grit
Mechanically spiral sanded and anodized, for round tube and pipe. Mechanically sanded and anodized finish for products with corrosive, high traffic exposure. The mechanical brushing masks unsightly scratches that occur from contact and handling during fabrication or everyday use.

BSS: Silver Brite Dip, 320 Grit
Mechanically spiral sanded and anodized, for round pads. Mechanically sanded and anodized finish for products with corrosive, high traffic exposure. The mechanical brushing masks unsightly scratches that occur from contact and handling during fabrication or everyday use.

BSY: Silver Brite Dip, 180 Grit
Mechanically spiral sanded and anodized, for extrusions. Mechanically sanded and anodized finish for products with corrosive, high traffic exposure. The mechanical brushing masks unsightly scratches that occur from contact and handling during fabrication or everyday use.

Standard Anodized Finishes

TAL: Polished, Clear Anodized
Mechanically buffed, semi-brite. A traditional anodized finish with a subtle polish. Most extrusion flow lines are removed during the polishing process.

VEL: Etch, Clear Anodized (satin)
A cost effective, matte finish. Provides the greatest corrosion protection for minimal aesthetically important exposure.

Painted Finishes

PCS: Silver Powder Coat
Pre-treated, painted and then baked for a durable finish. For moderately corrosive environments. Hardware components can be easily matched for a consistent appearance. Other colors are available upon request.

No Finish

AEY: Mill finish – as extruded
No secondary finishing. Primarily used for industrial applications or for third party finishing.
